Hot Toys for 2008

Hot Toys for Christmas 2008

by Irene Lynn

It’s never too late to start planning what you want to get your kids for Christmas.  At the 2008 International Toy Fair manufactures wanted to challenge kids to think, play nice with others and show them that being a kid is not being a couch potato.

So here at Mind Body Soul Patio we decided to consolidate our resources for you on just 10 of the hottest toys for 2008:

Elmo Live –  He’s still hot and he’s Elmo retailing for about $60.  Available October 14th.

Ozzie and Mack – Leapfrog’s Reading Tag System retailing around $49.99

Biscuit, My Loving Puppy – He responds to 6 commands including a commanding price of $179.99

Mr. Potato Head’s Taters of the Lost Ark -  His wardrobe is designed after the latest movie of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Retailing for $14.99.

V Motion – This is like a Wii game for young children.  It gets them off the couch and puts you back about $69.99 for that pleasure.

Hannah Montana Malibu Beach House – Move over Barbie, Hannah’s in town!  This is a doll house for the Hannah Montana fans.  This toy is predicted to fly off the shelves.  It will retail for $179.99, but once it hits Ebay, the sky is the limit! Here’s a secret. I just saw it for $159.99 at Toys R Us online.

A.T Rex – This is a midget 4×4 for toddlers with the need for speed.  It can drive up to 5 mph and drive you up for $289.99.

Eyeclops- This is made by Jakks.  This is a unique type of a microscope that is an interactive toy used with the TV.  It retails for about $34.75.  Well, at least we’re seeing some science for our kids this year.

Wallcrawler Spiderman – Kids can make Spiderman crawl up the wall. Hey, why not give him a rag while he’s up there so he can get those spider webs for mom. This retails for $49.99.

Girls Gormet – Move over Easy Bake, you have some competition here.   This retails for $29.99.   This is about $5- 10 cheaper than the Easy Bake we grew up with, but how do those wonderful bake goods taste? Pillsbury is calling for a bake off here to see which is better.

Check “ Government  Recalls” for the latest recalls.

Astrology Forecast for the 2008 Presidential Elections

An Astrological Forecast on the 2008 Presidential Elections/Obama/McCain

By Irene Lynn

The Saturn-Uranus opposition will begin exactly on Election Day, 2008.  So, what does this mean? Well, you have Saturn on one side which is a planet that is associated with discipline, restrictions, authority, perseverance, structure, depression, stability, limitations and in this case represents more of John McCain.  Then you have Uranus which is associated with sudden changes, new beginnings, electricity, rebellion, revolution, inventions, liberation, awakenings, and in this case would represent more of Barrack Obama.

There are many ways one can analyze the charts of both Obama and McCain based on how the signs of certain planets align in their charts and correlating it to past presidents. I think what will be important is to see how each candidate’s Mars, Saturn, and Pluto aligns to being president.

Mars is the planet that represents how stress affects us and how we put our ideas into action.  In addition to what I mentioned above regarding Saturn; it also represents how our anger affects us. Pluto is the planet of power and focuses on the masses.  Pluto is the generational planet. It will destroy for change sake, but later it will regenerate for the better.  It was discovered in 1930, during the beginning of the Great Depression. So, that is another reason, I wanted to take Pluto into consideration - seeing we have been reading about the U.S. going into another Great Depression regarding our economy.

So taking these 3 planets into consideration along with a major opposition of Saturn- Uranus on Election Day, let’s first look at the needs of the United States.

United States

The United States’ Moon has a conjunction with Pluto.  This means the U. S. is ready to make a change to its total environment – especially when it comes to the economy which is reflected with the Moon in its 2nd house.  See, our moon represents “the mother” and also the 2nd house represents finances and truth.   This could be supported with younger people who are typically truth seekers and women coming out for this purpose.

With the United States Mars sextiles Neptune, it shows a strong drive to be united and simplified.  It’s a yearning for the world to be united and a more cosmic form of love. This shows up in the polls.  Americans are fed up regarding the war.  It’s saying; let’s make peace, not war
.
The United States transit Saturn is in its 9th House.  Everything external and business-oriented should prosper providing there is honesty and truth guiding it.  However, it’s also saying that time is running out and we are reaching our peak regarding outward success.

The United States’ Pluto has an opposition with Venus.  Venus represents finances.  Remember what I said above that Pluto will destroy for change sake, but later it will regenerate for the better? Well, what you have been experiencing in our economy is just the beginning when it comes to Pluto destroying our financial system.  Unfortunately, the effects of Pluto will stay with us for a while in this area until 2020. So, unless we get the right person to address the concerns of our economy now, we are headed for tougher period that could last another 11 ½ more years.

I’d like to use an interesting analogy from one of my favorite astrologer/financial analyst - Raymond Merriman.  In his 2008 Forecast Book he discusses McCain and Obama’s planet Mars. His approach is to see the correlation of each candidate to the history of past presidents.

McCain

Merriman points out that with McCain’s Mars being Leo, McCain has the highest correlation to past U.S. Presidents Mars.  Leo’s are feisty and fearless.

Regarding the war- Merriman points out that McCain’s Saturn opposes his Venus-Neptune, forming a powerful T-square to the U.S Mars-Neptune square – meaning he’s going to stick to his war game to go after the terrorist for the sake of victory. A person who has the sign of Leo for their Mars like McCain does, expect fast action.  If some kind geopolitical situation happens to the United States from now till the elections, there could still be an upset with a McCain win; due to his experience in war issues. Remember, Saturn represents stability and Uranus is sudden change.

Regarding the economy - Merriman points out that he could be prone to issues in his duties presiding over the country during a period when we are in some financial hardships.  McCain’s own decision might contribute to a rising deficit.  Between the two candidates, Obama would have a better chance of turning the economy around.

Obama

Obama’s Mars is in Virgo which has a slightly above average correlation to past presidents.  A person who has Virgo for Mars typically are perfectionist on how they handle things – carefully thought out actions.

Regarding the war - his Mars is indicative of someone that might also be involved in a war and might find it difficult to come up with a satisfying conclusion.

Regarding the economy - Merriman points out that Obama has the potential to be a “superman” in finances and could be the better candidate in that regard.  However, there’s the other side of this.  There could be a concern about his approach to his fiscal strategy which could put him against powerful people that could hurt him from attaining a successful economic policy.  It is all about power struggles he will face. Nevertheless, picking the right cabinet members and vice president could help him overcome this struggle over the economy and war.

Saturn vs. Uranus Transit on Election Day

Saturn represents stability, a planet who teaches us discipline.  Yet, Uranus represents youth, a change of direction.  Who wins could depend on any geopolitical incidents or financial concerns that are in the forefront of the minds of voters prior to elections.  Uranus being the planet of sudden changes could apply to either candidate. It could mean a change of direction or an upset on who we thought was going to win, but they don’t.

For McCain, if people feel unsafe because of potential terrorist threats, then Saturn wins with stability, discipline, restrictions, authority, and perseverance.

For Obama, if our youth comes out in strong numbers for this election year, then he has the best potential for winning because our youth will rebel for change.  We have seen record numbers of registration from our youth that we have not seen before which could tip the scale and give the win to Obama.

In conclusion, despite the polls showing Obama in a big lead, this could be a close call and no one should count their chickens before they are hatched – and any time Uranus is involved, expect the unexpected.

The polls are showing most voters wants peace and if the war did end, our economy could improve; due to the money saved from the war that could go into the U.S.  However, if fear persists over peace, then our economy will continue to struggle, and the war continues to drain our resources.  Remember, astrology is just a roadmap.  It doesn’t take over free will. We have the power to change the world no matter what obstacles we are shown ahead.

If the stars can’t make up your mind on who to vote for, then you might want to ask Baboo…His answer might surprise you!

How to Make Money on Blogs Without Advertising!

Bloggers: Turn the Cash Blues into Cash Bliss

Here’s How to Earn Extra Cash for Your Blog Posts Using Associated Content

Join Associated Content

Writing quality content for your blog can pay off through advertising dollars, affiliate dollars, and sponsors. However, many of these revenue sources for bloggers have slowed down during this tough economic time. Some bloggers write excellent content at WordPress.com, where advertising is not permitted at this time. Here is one way you can turn your quality blog content into extra cash like I do.

I am a Top 1000 Content Producer at Associated Content.com (AC).  After writing about 400 articles, I reached a Clout 10, the highest pay scale level at AC. At that Clout Level, I earn $2 per 1,000 page views per month on all my archived articles for Associated Content.  I also won a $1000 prize in 2007 for the Best of AC Slideshow category with photographs I took as part of my content producing freelance work.

I have two blogs:  Mind Body Soul Patio  with co-writer and AC Content Producer Irene Lynn, and the Tops in Life blog where I publish multimedia bits and pieces of my AC articles using different SEO tags and title strategies to attract diverse blog traffic.  You can earn some really nice extra cash by linking your blog posts to your Associated Content articles.  Here are some of the ways I do that.

Ways you can make some extra cash using your blog content at Associated Content:

1. write original content for upfront payment and page view bonuses
2. respond to Calls for Content that pay upfront money and page view bonuses
3. submit content in major topic areas like Health so that Associated Content partners might buy your content for use at their online media outlet
4. earn Page View bonuses each month on all your archived articles. I average about 40,000-50,000 page views per month on my portfolio of 400 Associated Content articles.
5. enter the monthly contests sponsored by AC. In August, you can get $100 prize for Best of AC in 3 categories: Back-to-School Guides, Entertainment Reviews, and Olympics Coverage. Each month, AC will announce 3 new categories for cash prize contests.

How I earn extra cash by using similar content on both Associated Content and my blogs:

1. During the 4th of July holiday, I wrote a 600 word article for AC about the best songs for your 4th of July country style BBQ. Using the Associated Content sharing tools, I shared the article on DIGG, Twitter, Reddit, My Yahoo Web, delicious, StumbleUpon, and Facebook. Here is a link to that Associated Content article: Top Ten Fourth of July Songs for Your Country Style BBQ

Next, I published a blog post at Mind Body Soul Patio using a different title and excerpts from the Associated Content article.  In the blog post, I provided a hyperlink to the Associated Content article. Here is a link to the blog post I did:   Top 25 4th of July Songs for Your Country BBQ Party

I also shared my blog post on DIGG, Twitter, Reddit, My Yahoo Web, delicious, StumbleUpon, and Facebook. In addition, I used the SEO boost and Ping tools on Feedburner to pingshot my blog post.

A few hundred people a day clicked from my blog post to the AC article. The AC article now has around 6,600 page views and at $2.00 per 1,000 - that is $13.20 I earned at AC for that one article and link referrals from the blog post.  If you multiply that by 400 articles - that is some pretty good money!

2. You can use Associated Content to drive traffic to your web site or blog also.

Freelance writing and blogging are great ways to share your sympathies with the family and friends of those who have passed, and who you like but don’t personally know.  I have published tributes to some of my favorite people like Elvis Presley, Randy Pausch, and Jim McKay.

After the tragic news of the death of my favorite television personality, Tim Russert, I wrote a Tribute to Tim Russert article on Associated Content with an MP3 Playlist of Bruce Springsteen Songs. I included a hyperlink to my blog post where I enhanced the Tim Russert tribute using slideshows, an MP3 music video player of Bruce Springsteen performances, videos of other tributes to Tim Russert and some of my favorite photos of Tim Russert.

The Tribute To Tim Russert on my blog received hundreds of visitors who clicked from the Associated Content article to see the multimedia version of the tribute. After posting the multimedia Tim Russert tribute on my blog, I was invited to share a link on the MSNBC Tribute to Tim Russert  web site.

My AC tribute to Tim Russert has thousands of page views, and the Tim Russert blog post remains in the Top 3 posts of the blog’s history.  Like millions of other Internet users, I was devasted by Tim Russert’s sudden death and wanted to do all I could to pay tribute to his family and friends. To view these two content pieces, click on these links:

On AC - In Memory of Tim Russert: an MP3 Playlist of Bruce Springsteen Video Performances

On Blog - A Tribute to Tim Russert: Bruce Springsteen Songs

3. I also write about popular events like the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, Who Won Nashville Star, A Tribute to Jim McKay and Favorite Olympic Moments, Best Super Bowls, songs and movies for back-to-school and just about anything else that I wanted to write about.

You can use different SEO tags and titles for the same content to drive traffic to multiple web URL locations and increase your potential for earnings.  Spinning the same content a little and using different  SEO strategies will help cover all the possible searches for a particular story or interest level of your audiences.  This in turn will earn you some extra cash.  For example:

a.  on AC, I wrote an article about The Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas: Breaks Hearts and Finds Love.

b.  on Mind Body Soul Patio, the same story included the title words MP3 Playlist of Love Songs for Jesse and Heartbreak Songs for Jason and the post included an MP3 player with video performances of the songs.

c.  on Tops in Life, I broke down the multimedia content into two generic posts titled Top 10 Heartbreak Songs and Top 10 Love Songs without all the sappy gossip coverage from the reality television show.

Don’t worry if you think you are not a good enough writer for Associated Content. There are plenty of writing forums and fellow AC Content Producers who will mentor y
